The Auld Alliance is an ancient alliance between the old kingdoms of Scotland and France. It was called upon during the Jacobite uprising, when exiled Bonnie Prince Charlie sailed from France to Scotland in 1745 to try to reclaim the Scottish throne. After a terrible defeat at Culloden, the prince escaped Hanoverian troops by crossing the sea to Skye.
One of our first soaps, our pure and gentle Auld Alliance soap unites Scottish sea salt with traditionally distilled, organic French lavender oil. The scent is evocative of the South of France mingled with crisp Scottish sea air.
As with all our soaps, these naturally luxurious, cold-process soaps are handmade in small batches, with skin-loving oils and ultra-moisturising Shea Butter. They are scented only with plants, and coloured only by plants and the earth.
